Piano theory and performance fundamentals
Connect your piano to your iPad and use on-screen flash cards for a realistic way to improve your left hand chord skills.
Connect your piano to your iPad and use on-screen flash cards for a realistic way to improve your left hand chord skills.
As any one who has ever played a piano can tell you, it is much simpler to learn the right hand melody than it is the left hand harmony. Learning to play chords so well that you cannot get them wrong is entirely a practical and not a theoretical skill. Gaining the ability to actually play chords quickly through progressions is achieved through muscle memory.
If you are ready to go beyond mere chord theory and get your hands fully engaged on this problem, then you should look at a new app that takes this head on. Unlike other simplistic music theory apps, it allows a person, young or old, to scan the music sheets from the songs they really want to learn and then be taught how to play the corresponding chords with their very own hands by connecting their iPhone or iPad to an actual piano keyboard.
Think of it like using on-screen flash cards, a tried and true educational tool, where you provide correct answers using your hands on an actual piano keyboard rather than merely speaking your answer.
— It uses color coded correction prompts to guide you when you struggle.
— Proven to work with Yamaha, Korg, Casio, Roland and others!
— Superb chord identification when using printed sheet music; can even handle hand-written chord notations like those found in The Jazz Real Books
— Recognition of more than 1,400 chord symbols all playable within an octave
- All Triad Types - Major, Minor, Diminished, Augmented, Suspended
- All 7th Chord Types - Major, Dominant, Minor, Diminished, Half Diminished
- Support for 9ths, 11th and 13ths
— Immediate on-screen illustration to guide you on the correct way to play inversions.
— Best experienced by connecting your iPad or iPhone directly to your digital piano keyboard using either
- Lightning to MIDI Cable USB OTG Type B Cable or
- 5 pin din MIDI to OTG to Lightning
— Practice your knowledge of chords even when you are traveling and cannot connect to your digital piano keyboard!
— Designate the range of keys you want to practice within in order to improve how to move from one chord to another in the shortest keyboard distance and time possible.
— "what gets measured gets perfected" - your play is measured so that you can compare your sessions over time to watch your improvement.
— Watch your proficiency increase and response time decrease as you progress to more complex chords … use of more fingers or more black keys!
